Tensility is a new company formed from the purchase of CUI Inc’s cable assembly product line. Tensility was formed to give cable assembly customers an increased level of service and responsiveness. Because cable assemblies are an extremely customized product, the level of attention needed for each order is high. Tensility believes that servicing the unique needs of cable assembly customers requires a dedicated team that can focus on just those unique requirements.

Tensility purchased the cable assembly line on December 1, 2008. However, since this is a mutually beneficial arrangement, CUI is continuing to help maintain customers while Tensility is getting ready to do business officially, making sure everything is in place so that service is not interrupted. Tensility will officially be “open for business” on December 8, 2008. As well, into the future, CUI and Tensility will work together on projects when it makes sense.

Tensility was founded by two CUI Inc alums who were part of the business from the early days. As such, they are sincerely committed to the values and business processes that made CUI Inc unique. The founders also have cumulative 20 years experience with the type of business and customers that CUI supplied. This means that though the name of the company has changed for customers buying cable assemblies, the expectations, processes, and commitment to service has not changed.

Though Tensility is a new entity, the business itself is not. Therefore, customers can trust that supply chains, quality, and financing are in place to support customers as though Tensility was not new, but an ongoing, existing entity. Customers can expect business to be almost “as usual” with some ongoing upgrades in efficiency, information, and service.

Customers that have orders currently in production will still get their orders on the schedule agreed upon with CUI sales managers. Depending on the order, it will be shipped from Tensility or CUI, either one, to ensure there are no problems or delays. A representative from Tensility will contact you about all orders in production.

If you are buying a “package deal” from CUI and wish to continue to do so, CUI and Tensility will make the arrangements for you. In these cases, CUI will act as a rep for Tensility.
